About Me
Hello! I’m Parker, and the photo above is me with my rescue pup, Sadie, on a ledge looking out toward the Great Range in the Adirondacks; the same topography shown in the contour map on the sidebar. I'm from a small town in the Adirondacks, and most of my time outside work and class is spent exploring them: hiking, skiing, or just wandering around familiar trails. I enjoy backpacking long-distance trails like the Northville–Placid and sections of the Pacific Crest Trail, and these experiences inspired my passion for geology.
My interest in spatial analysis began much earlier, back in middle-school Earth Science during a simple topographic-map lesson. Turning scattered elevation points into a real, recognizable landscape felt surprisingly intuitive, and it stuck with me. It’s a small moment I still think about, because it ended up shaping the way I see landforms, patterns, and data, and eventually led me to pursue a career in GIS.
